Sonia a. Talwar, M.D.

Dr. Talwar has a been practicing Endocrinology since 1996. She is Chief of Endocrinology at Northwell Hospital at Plainview. Prior to starting her private practice in Plainview she was an attending physician in Endocrinology at Winthrop University Hospital, Mineola, New York. She completed her internship and residency training at New York University Langone in Queens and pursued fellowship training in Endocrinology at Winthrop University Hospital, Mineola, New York.

She received her medical degree from Lady Hardinge Medical School, New Delhi, India. Dr. Talwar is dual Board Certified in Endocrinology and Internal Medicine. Her professional memberships include:

  • American Diabetes Association
  • European Calcified Tissue Society
  • American Society of Bone Mineral Research
  • The Endocrine Society
  • American Association of Physicians of India

Dr. Talwar currently has privileges at Northwell Hospitals and NYU Langone in Mineola(Winthrop University Hospital).

Dr. Talwar is well published in her field. She has experience in conducting clinical research and pharmaceutical trials. She is passionate about mentoring students pursuing a career in health care.

Neha Datta, M.S.

Office Operations Manager

Neha received a Master of Hospital Administration from Hofstra University , and has a Bachelor of Arts in from SUNY Buffalo, New York.

Neha is a passionate and self directed worker who manages the day-to-day running of the office. She is also responsible for the human resource management in our office.

Lindsay

Lindsay Rosen, M.S., R.D., C.D.N.

Lindsay received a Master of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics from New York University, and has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania.

Lindsay gained experience in several nutrition specialty areas including weight management, pediatric and adolescent medicine, cardiac health

and diabetes management while completing her Clinical Dietetic Internship at NewYork-Presbyterian hospital. She is an active member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, as well as the Greater New York Dietetic Association.

As a Registered Dietitian at Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism, NY P.C. Lindsay’s expertise includes weight management and preventive nutrition with a focus on diabetes. During nutrition counseling, she uses an individualized approach that focuses on the clients’ specific nutritional and medical needs like metabolic syndrome, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, renal failure and celiac disease. She places emphasis on personalized meal planning in order to guide the patient in developing and maintaining healthier dietary and lifestyle habits. She counsels and guides diabetic patients using insulin pump therapy on their management.

Laura Teplitz, NP

Laura’s interest in endocrinology sparked during her work as a nurse at Stony Brook Hospital that made her pursue a to advance to Endocrinology Nurse Practitioner. Since 2020 she has had the privilege of working alongside Dr. Sonia Talwar.

She enjoys the chronic disease management aspect of this setting because it allows for maximum patient interaction and follow up on their care.

She is especially invested in and pre-diabetes program at the office focusing on improvement in overall health and metabolism.

Being a health care provider on this team enables her to fulfill my passion for helping others every day.

Nonia

Sukhraj (Nonia) Minhas, MD Health Care Consultant

Nonia pursued her medical studies as a globe trotter, obtaining her pre-medical degree from England, Medical Doctorate degree from Ross University in Dominica and finishing her clinical internship in NY. Traveling during her studies exposed her to diverse personalities and cultures allowing her to be able to be well versed in communication with all types of patients and understanding their specific needs.

At her present position as a Health Care Consultant, she quickly became inclined to educating patients with various endocrine disorders. She particularly enjoys assisting diabetes patients with understanding their condition and using all tools available (i.e. insulin therapy, pump trainings and CGMS devices) to educate them in order to improve their quality of life.

Medicine has taught her to be positive, patient and persistent in overall life practices. She engages and enjoys working with patients to help people understand and treat their bodies better in order to ultimately gain an overall healthy lifestyle.

Ashwini

Ashwini Sadananda

Ashwini is our current office manager. She joined our staff in 2008. She is responsible for non-clinical aspects of the practice. She is very hard working and  passionate about taking care of our patients requirements and requests.
